just got released from field camp aka the 2nd level of hell.
ever tried not bathing for 7days, sleeping on rocky grounds wif ants and centipedes as sleeping buddies, having almost inedible dried rations for 6 days, officers visiting you once in a while as if it's chinese new year in field camp just to give you hell, carrying almost 20 kg of stuff on ur back and marching from site to site for 3 hrs, proning onto ants nest and spiders' combs when ur ordered to, standing helplessly watching your friends get whacked mercilessly while you are untouched coz you made a mistake, crawling on sand for 150m under barbed wire with live rounds fired over ur head, digging a hole in the ground just to shit and watching your friends shit beside you! , smelling like shit, digging a trench for more than 12 hrs just so that you can sleep in it for the night, feeling terrified and helpless not knowing what's next in store for you
other than that, field camp was fun.. hur hur hur..
throughout the field camp, God was there for me. I wanted to just give up and feign sick, so that I could miss some activities, but He gave me the strength to just fight on with my friends. I still can't believe I completed this field camp, haven't felt such an achievement before in my life.
well, if you're going through some sort of hardship in ur life, just remember that what you're going through is nothing compared to what Jesus went through to die for us :)
oh YA... super depressing, I only lost 2 kg during field camp, even though I ate nothing but biscuits and fruit bars :( :( not enuf punishments
yupz, gonnna book in tonight :( won't be getting out for another 2 weeks, gonna enter the jungle for another 3 days next weekend for a situational test, and a 24 km road march the week after :( yikes... do pray for me :)
