loooooooooooonnnngggggggg weeeekkkeeeeennnddddddd!!
longer than any of my friends' weekends...
we lucky medics got to book out on thurs night for nights off.. althought fri was book out day...
it was raining then, and I was feeling a little ill, but who cares, I went out to enjoy anyway..
guess what, fell really sick the next morning, high fever and massive diarrhoea, so I went to report sick and had ONE DAY MC!!!!! so I boooked out fri morning! blessing in disguise huh.. got to miss one session of jabs!
hope I'll recover by tonight, or atleast partially recover.. actually I dun care.. gonna meet zhi xiong for lan with some other peeps, then off to dinner at the OAKS at tanglin wif my jc classmates! gonna be a great gathering, gonna go on and on and on abt army like never b4... considering the last time we met was during bmt..
tmr's gonna be more fun, if I get well that is.. churchie friends! captain's ball! service! then it's gonna be a stayover in church for NS guys for more fun! i hope... then the next day's gonna be badminton day wif other churchie friends, i hope it's still on!

aiight, here I go again blabbering abt my cozy life in the army..
but this week had been a long and painful week for me..
yeah, we upgraded from 20G to 16G needles( number indirectly proportional to thickness) this time was the real thing.. yakult straws...
And.. i got hit twice.. first, from my buddy... 2nd, from some guy who missed 5 times already... and STUPID IDIOTIC KINDHEARTED ME went to volunteer my arm for that guy's 6th miss.. and guess what, he missed my vein and went straight to my nerve.. indescribable pain I TELL YOU.. felt like extracting teeth without anaesthesia, on the arm that is..
it was on my left hand somemore... my master hand... which was temporarily immobilised for a few hours..
the better news is, next week's gonna be combat phase, no more comfy lectures in the audi.. everything's gonna be outfield... and there will be TWO sessions of 16G IV next week... HELP ME!
anyway, this week's nights off was great.. we went to ang mo kio central to play pool at some sleazy place, homeground of ah lians! dammit.. we saw one gorgeous beauty opposite our table wif unbelievable large chests.. couldn't play well as a result :P
oh well, gonna watch national treasure for the 2nd time now, and then I'll probably go rent some movies.. and maybe try to visit the gym.. try..

went out wif the NS guys frm church to watch Guess Who.. super gd movie! then went around town in the rain to shop for stuff with taffy.. haha guys night out..
decided to stop by videoez to rent some vcds.. decided to get stuck on you.. pretty hilarious movie I must say.
anyway, had a lil chat wif mummy last night b4 she left for cell grp.. she wants me to do piano lessons wif my siblings and ditch their piano teacher. the funny part was, she was gonna pay my siblings as well just to sit still and practice.. hur hur.. how come I didn't get such good deals last time.. I think I'll take up math tuition pretty soon as well.. army pays peanuts.

this week has it's ups and downs, but mostly ups :)
this week felt like eternity, had so many lectures and tutorials throughout the week.. almost went bonkers.
monday: nothing much, had to knock down 50 in the morning coz our bunk had the presence of dust -.- then it was practical lessons all the way
tuesday: it was intravenous infusion (IV) day.. needles, blood, and more blood. yup.. this time it was quite nerve-wrecking.. coz I had to perform 2 successful jabs to make up for the one I missed the week b4.. so I had to poke my buddy many times.. oops. It was a one shot kill for the first jab on my buddy's right arm, but for the 2nd shot, the vein on his left arm decided to play hide-and-seek and unfortunately, I had to search for the vein moving the needle around the hand, and guess what, I couldn't locate the stubborn vein.. so I had to find another victim(who was thankfully veiny) and completed my 2nd jab..
then it was my turn to get shot at; somehow, my buddy not only located my vein, but he located my muscle or tissue or dunnowhat as well. It was not really the most painful jab I've received so far.... I ALMOST DIED of pain.. haha..
And we received even better news after the session, next week, we would be dealing wif LARGER NEEDLES, YAKULT STRAW SIZE. The ones I'm using are already huge, toothpick thickness.. I'M SO GONNA DIE NEXT WEEK!
wednesday: lectures, tutorials, blah blah blah.. BUT, we got to book out today and loiter around Singapore for 4 hrs. So we decided to hang out at north point's arcade and LJS.. it was kinda fun in contrast to the boring day we had
thurs: practicals(almost died of boredom), slept steathily throughout :) saving energy to mug at night for a very impt test the next day
FRI: which is today. It was lectures in the morning, and a PRACTICAL TEST in the afternoon. The test covered treatment for fractures, burns, wounds, and arresting of haemorrhage for every corner of the body..yeah. my bunk mates and I practised with every bandage we could lay our hands on for like 5 hrs non-stop on thurs, it was like mugging for A levels all over again, or even harder..what made things worse was I didn't know anything.. HAR HAR.. coz I practically missed 90% of what was coming out due to the fever I had last week. YUP.. so I was staring at my friends wif my jaw almost touching the ground when they were practising coz I had no clue what was going on, and I told myself I was gonna fail.
Thank God I passed.. haha.. by a stroke of luck. dunno how also..
yeah.. then we booked out. LAST platoon to book out. coz we threw biohazard(bloody objects) stuff into the normal thrash bag, when it was supposed to be at the biohazard thrash bag. so for that, we had to book out half an hour after the 1st platoon booked out, which sucked.
then I got a shock when I got home. forgot to tell you that I had been eating like a pig this week, coz we were getting canteen breaks like we didn't have enuf of it.. yup so I'm like eating 5 full meals a day [ breakfast, canteen, lunch, canteen, dinner ]plus the whole chunk of junk I gobbled down during nights out on wed.. bug GUESS WHAT, I STEPPED ONTO THE WEIGHING MACHINE JUST NOW AND.... I LOST 2 KG... wth.. haha.. mircale from GOD :):):):):):):):)
oh well, sorry for my poor english, got it from camp :)

hafta report back to camp tmr at 8am for remedial lessons... arghhh!! missed so much stuff in my 3 days of MC..

whole body ached like mad ytd for no reason, and all the illnesses u have experienced b4 started onslaughting me at one go, soooo, I decided to visit the polyclinic and extend my MC... ONE DAY. :(
oh well, better than nothing..
after years of gaining my trust from my friends, this same trust was lost in meer seconds.. what happened..

received an email from the NUS, them stating that my application is classified as "awaiting document" and it would be considered void and withdrawn if I didn't hand up my supporting documents by 1st April, i.e. colour blindness cert.
and guess what, I forgot..
but thank God for great parents for not freaking out that much, and Dad who went down to NUS to appeal and succeeded.. PHEW!..
maybe God wants me to go NTU hur hur..
oh well, have been watching TV throughout the day and afternoon, only moving my bottoms off the couch to take my medicine and lunch.. sounds like fun huh..
oh well, hopefully I get into NTU nautical engine or something.. praying hard!

just came back from NUH for high fever.. got 3 days MC haha! super long weekend!
that means I'll be able to catch Star Wars, desperate houseewives tmr!
sigh missed church today coz my brain was bursting with 39.7degreescelsius.. miss you guys man..

was so amazed how pretty that blog was.. go check it out.. haha..CHIOBU!
anyway.. had my first IV jab today.. it was an experience of a lifetime.. didn't know jabs could be so mentally torturing..
everyone was so stressed out and nervous, esp. me.. didn't even have faith in my buddy initially as he was so KANCHIOnG!.. I was freaking out already when he almost missed out the alcohol swabs! and the sergeants stressed us out even more when they told us the complications of IV, one of them was air embolism - air bubble injected into the blood stream would cause a blockage in the blood vessel at the heart,leading to death... RIGHT.. anyway, thank God everything went well, and the needle didn't cause much pain for it's enormous size.( yakult straw circumference )... maybe i'm thick-skinned.. heh..
yeah did my first guard duty in my entire NS life this week.. 2hrs of sentry followed by one hour of sleep for 10 odd hours.. it was impossible to stay awake the next day..
probably gonna visit the barber tomorrow and finally get some style out of my hair.. i hope.. anyway gtg.. ciaoz
