had a very fulfilling weekend :)
fri's bbq was great! and fellowship after tt was better! was in the same grp as jiahao, eduard and timmy, i must say i really really really respect jiahao for how he is willing to sacrifice so much to serve God and serve his ppl, no matter how bz or sick or down he is, he still trusts God to carry him through..
sat : SYNERGIZE CONFERENCE! THANK YOU ANDY FOR THE PASS! LOVE YOU! haha. anyway, wah was really really really impacted by Matthew Barnett, and how his sharings are so uncanningly relevant to our lives right now. Jesus told the lame man to rise up and walk; Jesus told the lame man to do something which he couldnt do since he was born, something he believed it's impossible, i guess God is trying to tell us to not just take on what we think we are capable of, but humble ourselves and rely on God to take on bigger dreams, things we alone cannot accomplish, but with God nothing's impossible.
Jeanne Mayo shared a story at the night concert, it was abt 40 christians who were forced by soldiers to strip naked and stand in the cold icy wind slowly and agonisingly freezing to death, unless they denounce christ. they were each given a lit candle, their only hope. One by one, the christians fell onto the icy ground, giving up their lives for the Lord, until the very last one, where he shouted " I can't take it anymore , i give up, i denounce Christ!"
The captain of the soldiers stood way behind, watching this tragic tribulation he had called for. Then, he took off his armour, walked naked all the way to the 39 bodies on the floor and said "If 39 of them could give up their lives for the Lord, then what they have given up for must be something worth dying for, and it's real!"
The next morning, there were 40 bodies on the icy ground.
I guess this season is preparing us to step out of our comfort zones, to become broken for God and form up an army for Him !
And then came Pastor Sam on Sunday, where he shared on taking up responsibilities as men, to rise up! If we men don't rise up, the women in church will not, because God will not allow it to happen.
And during Jyc worship, God led Tany to use the song "Take All of Me"
